Poetic Minds

Greetings once again folks, welcome back to the chronicles of Milk and Coffee. The pot of love is bubbling and great moments are going to boil down to solid memories. The saga continues…

So it’s only the second week and things are progressing rather smoothly between me and Milk. I started having lunch with milk since we had plenty to talk about. I thought that would draw us closer and i even gave her a new series to watch called Grownish. Through conversations, milk showed high interest in poetry and she even won a competition in the past. She explained that she published a book as a result. I was really impressed and i remembered how much l liked poetry and writing stories in High school. I told her i haven’t written in a long time but i’m not so bad with the pen. So the day after we went movies, i sent her a poem i wrote in 2015. It was a poem about life changes and being satisfied with your life. I never gave it a name but eventually named it The Butterfly Effect. I really hoped milk would like it and see potential in me as a writer.

It turned out that she did like it and was really impressed by how deep it was. I remember just smiling and blushing away. I told her it would be a good idea to share our poetry with each other. I also wanted to purchase her book and get some form of inspiration. So on August 6th i purchased her poetry book and i really enjoyed reading her stuff. It was like a mini bible.

After two weeks i couldn’t stop thinking about milk, how we had a lot in common and how she appreciated my personality. So on August 8th i asked her if she wanted to meet up at a bar in town to chill. She checked her schedule and agreed to meet up. I was pleased with her response and thought she was probably feeling my vibe. Later that day i made it to the bar first and was patiently waiting for milk. Then she arrived looking beautiful as ever with braids and red lipstick. I was off from work that day and it was my first time seeing her for the day. I bought us smoothies and we took a sit and started talking about family life, work and poetry. I brought her book with me and told her how much i appreciated it. I also surprised her with my virtual reality headset. She liked it but didn’t like wearing it in public.

During the whole time talking to her, i was shy and awkward as ever. Thank God she ignored it and found it adorable. I remember laughing and smiling for no reason and just looking like a fool. Between the two of us she was more of the talker .So after about an hour of chatting and finishing our smoothies, we called it a day and walked to her bus stop. In my mind i had two solid dates down already and could sense that milk liked me as well. She liked the flesh of poetry, they seemed more human than most people. i liked how the boat was sailing. Are the currents in my favor? stay tuned….

I call this phase “a poetic connection”
