I’m elated to write this blog so here goes.

So it’s Coffee’s 27th birthday 🎉 and as usual I set out to celebrate my man.I surprised him with a red velvet cake,covered with green frosting (one of his favorite colors) and we spent the night celebrating .

The day after I organized a tour up the Indian river,one of the deepest rivers on island, one whom Coffee hadn’t been on yet ,so he was excited .

I took the time off work just to spend quality time with my love.We drove across the island on a vehicle Coffee rented with music,snacks and smiles we were on cloud 9.

As we drove though I noticed Coffee was uneasy,I asked him if he was ok,he said he had lots on his mind.I prayed he would soon cheer up.

The tour started at 10 and our guide rowed us up the tranquil river.What a site to behold, the river fishes as they swam nearby,the trees forming a canopy as we went further up the river.The tour guide gave us the names of the trees and a brief history of the river, which led us to Calypso’s shack on the river banks,the one from the movie The pirates of the Caribbean Coffee and I took pictures and recorded as we went on.

The sun was blazing and I became thirsty so I reached for some water from Coffee’s back pack,while putting it back I noticed a ring box. Why did Coffee have a ring box I thought,was he about to propose?? I became a little nervous as my mind became filled with alot of what ifs. I kept my composure and pretended I didn’t see it.For the rest of the tour everytime he touched his bag my heart ached . Every gesture of his was monitored as I wondered if this was it, was he going to.Then I recalled a year ago when I saw the ring in his bag and thought as much and nothing happened,what if this was another raised expectation I thought.

So I brushed the idea off and focused on the beautiful scenery.The tour came to a halt as we disembarked to go to a restaurant on the river bed. I asked Coffee to take some pictures of me,it was then I noticed he put something in his pocket.Oh boy he is really going to propose I thought.I smiled and a part of me felt he would be too nervous to do it, another part of me couldn’t believe it,it was really happening. We took pictures of eachother and ordered drinks at the bar

The dynamite which we ordered was very strong and had me tipsy a bit but Coffee was fine.

We went back to the boat and headed back down,the river tour was almost over when I heard coffee come closer to me and whispered in my ears.I appreciate you and everything you do for me, that’s why I want you to marry me,I love you.He then placed a gold , diamond studded ring on my finger.Yesss I do! I replied as we kissed and hugged. Finally I thought, finally!

We held hands as I said a prayer asking God to help And guide us on this new journey.
